really strange because this was a fresh install, I didn't have any AV (the difference between my two machines with regards to AV was Nod32 on one, MSE on the other, I wanted to rule both out) so I was fast becoming lost as to the reason why. At this stage it was a vanilla build with just updates and the game installed. dumped due to PB-B.Īt this stage I had had enough, out came the Win 7 USB and I rebuilt my machine (thank goodness for WHS Backups ), 10 minutes later the machine was rebuilt and I started updating and copying BC2 back onto it. On Saturday I did some searching and found this thread as well as updated LAN drivers, I powered on the i7, updated the LAN drivers, checked the PB folder (it was missing the pbsec.htm so I placed it in there) and tried again. At this point my mate (who I was talking to on TS) asked me if I still had my old rig handy, I did and 10 minutes later I was up and running on that, cue 4 hours of BC2 play, uninterrupted. I had reset my router (in case it was due to the high ports being used already), stopped all other traffic going out of it (DHCP stopped and all leases ended) but nothing worked, my two mates were fed up of constantly trying new servers and so was I. On Friday night after being chucked off every 2 -3 minutes for over half an hour I had had enough. What was strange was that it was completely random, there were some days where I could play the on the same server for hours at a time, other times I would be chucked off within 2 minutes. I tried a number of fixes including reinstallation of the game and of PB. A couple of days later BC2 would randomly throw me out of games with various PB errors (more often than not it was PB-B errors), at the time I wasn't sure whether this was down to a dirty line (cable) or something else. I recently built up my new i7 machine and all was well with playing BC2. I thought I would throw a curve ball into this. i'm going to leave this in news for a day or two unless someone moves it before I do. The problem for anyone who has PB kick them out after a period of time is the missing PBSEC.HTM.
